Marketing Director – Arthritis Foundation

The Director, Mission Communications, under the direction of the Vice President, Brand Communications and Marketing, is responsible for coordinating, planning and managing mission-related communications for the Arthritis Foundation. This position ensures that organizational identity is established, understood and implemented consistently inside and outside the organization and aligns with the organization’s strategic plan and impacted goals. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to public relations, brand development; internal, external and visual communications; public policy, and research and development.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (or demonstrated equivalent life experience) in marketing, communications, public relations, liberal arts or related field, plus a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in communications, including a strong track record of communicating work in the areas of medical research, public policy, public health and/or fundraising. Prior experience handling communications for corporate, nonprofit and government sectors is preferred. Fundamental internal and external communications, public relations, advertising and marketing experience are also required. Must demonstrate a consistent record of positive performance results and the ability to lead, direct, and motivate staff. Must have excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact positively and work collaboratively with staff and volunteers at all levels. Knowledge of MS Office, content management systems, and project management software. Knowledge of Web languages, including html, and social networking tools is also required.
