Director of Sponsorships and Strategic Marketing – Girl Scouts

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for securing sponsorships and/or strategic marketing alliances with area corporations which support the mission of the organization, strengthen the brand, and honor all regulatory requirements for such agreements. The position is also responsible for obtaining external valuations for sponsorship opportunities and keeping the Board informed of any and all marketing alliances in advance of sealing deals with companies for such alliances. Additionally, it is responsible for entering all data related to existing and prospective relationships into Raisers Edge in order to facilitate maintenance and cultivation of relationships. Finally, this position will also position Girl Scouts for additional and repeat agreements for marketing alliances, but also open doors for conversations regarding individual leadership giving or corporate grants as appropriate.

•Work with Council leadership to understand the needs and value proposition as relates to sponsorships and marketing alliances
•Work with external valuation company to detail the benefits and value of agreements.
•Work with finance and legal to ensure cross functional agreement with regard to regulations for sponsorships and/or strategic alliances with companies
•Involve leadership staff and volunteers in solicitation meetings as appropriate, and execute monthly reports updating the status of all active conversations
•Collaborate with national staff as appropriate on cultivation and negotiations
•Work with prospect research staff as needed
•Ensure proper acknowledgement of all sponsorships and marketing alliances is executed on a timely basis
•Write and/or provide support documentation to corporate contacts as needed and appropriate
•Manage a pipeline of prospects for qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
•Document all contact and progression of discussions with all prospects in Raisers’ Edge
•Perform other duties as assigned to assist the Council in obtaining and maintaining its mission.

•Bachelor’s Degree in related field
•At least eight years in sponsorship sales and/or cause marketing with demonstrated skill in securing $250,000 or greater value of agreements
•Strong knowledge of sponsorship and strategic alliances
•Strong oral and written communications skills with demonstrated professional verbal skills
•Strong network of contact among influential contacts in the Atlanta area
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Group and Raisers Edge
•Self-motivated and self-managed in work processes to achieve goals
•Ability to work independently and at a fast pace on multiple tasks
•Attention to detail; demonstrated accuracy
•Ability to work with a diverse team of people
•Ability to maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff, and donors.
•Must successfully complete a criminal and credit background check.

Preferred Skills: Girl Scout experience or experience with youth-oriented nonprofits
