Corporate Communications Manager – DELTA

Delta Air Lines is currently seeking a General Manager of Corporate Communications supporting Latin America.
Responsible for providing advice and counsel to the VP, Latin America/Caribbean and direct reports on communications strategy, working with the international leadership team to develop communications plans which support communications strategy and the business goals of the international division and developing implementation plans that clearly define roles and responsibilities as communications programs unfold. Must also provide direct communications support to senior executive as needed for key speeches, presentations, etc., coordinate communications with the divisional Corporate Communications teams and external media opportunities, define and maintain access to full Corporate Communications services and support for communications needs, manage media relationships and advance stories that elevate the US and regional profile of Delta with key publications and trades, and assist with other duties as assigned. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred, but not required. A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive responsibility in the field of communications and experience leading external communications efforts preferred. Experience in media relations required. Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese, as a third language, would be a plus. Should possess the following: -Excellent leadership skills
-Experience in preparing and presenting communication strategies at the executive level
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including proficiency in AP style. -The ability to influence and provide counsel at all levels of the organization
-Experience working effectively on cross-functional teams and with diverse groups. -Strong business acumen
-The ability to build strong relationships and utilize the Corporate Communications organization -The ability to manage multiple demands in a complex organization -Familiarity with LATAM region and media landscape
-Ability to develop, manage, execute media events in US and LATAM -Experience with Issues Management
Previous experience in supporting regional communications at a major corporation preferred. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and Internet search engines essential. Must have a high degree of initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines as required. Must be flexible in dealing with changing priorities. 25% travel required; based in Atlanta. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
