Director of Sales
Alternative is currently seeking an accomplished Sales executive to join our leadership team. The Director of Sales oversees lead/pipeline management, planning, forecasting, and Sales Rep management, also working closely with Alternative’s Merchandising and Product Development teams. This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and directs a team of 8-14 employees and independent Sales Reps.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and motivate a Sales team comprised of in-house Sales Reps and independent Multi-Line Reps
Participate in developing long-range, company-wide sales and brand strategy for each channel
Maintain existing customer relationships while planning and opening new channels of business
Develop and lead strategic sales plans and revenue targets and set and track sales budgets
Coordinate resources and drive communication and planning with cross-functional department heads
Provide sales performance reports and provide detailed insight and recommendations
Perform market/competitive analysis to determine business growth potential, target new sales opportunities and initiate action plan to approach and secure new business
Maintain and leverage relationships with customer management team and buyers
Responsible for sales presentations to customers and internal teams
Travel to work directly with major customers, lead industry tradeshows and partner with Reps on customer calls
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
BA/BS degree required
10+ years of progressive sales/wholesale sales experience in the apparel industry with a track record of leading a brand through accelerated growth
In-depth knowledge of the promotional products/imprintable sportswear industry
Solid industry contacts and existing relationships with key management at the largest promotional products companies in the country, nation-wide screenprinter contacts a plus
Proven track record of recruiting, leading and developing independent and internal Sales Reps to achieve performance goals
Experience planning, setting and managing sales goals to achieve growth targets
Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills with a thorough understanding of retail math and metrics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including account qualification, presentation, negotiation and closing
Excellent time-management skills with a proven track record of juggling priorities and successfully meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
Highly self-motivated and able to quickly adapt to unique situations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Outstanding relationship-building skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
50% travel required

Product Specialist (Atlanta)

Customer experience begins with our Product Specialists. Whether helping a customer decide on which product to select or providing information about an order, Product Specialists build genuine relationships with our customers to ensure they receive the best experience possible. Working closely with our customers, Product Specialists are the voice of Alternative. Our customers call, fax or email their inquiries and requests, and seek someone to help solve their problems, choose products and handle their orders with care. Our customers could be anywhere-a movie set in L.A., a small boutique in Brooklyn or a screen-printing shop in New Orleans, making every customer unique as well as every situation. The decisions made by our Product Specialists drive the company’s operation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage call volume and answer all inbound calls and emails regarding orders and product questions.
Provide authentic, honest customer service by gathering and responding to customer feedback/inquiries.
Regularly make informed decisions and solve problems.
Provide knowledge and information about Alternative and our products.
Enter orders correctly and in a timely manner.
Provide excellent follow-through and regular status updates for tasks.
Support the Alternative sales team.
