Marketing Manager – Panasonic

To manage all product categories including cost reduction, profit maximizing, inventory issues and pricing. The need to develop promotional strategies for key product categories while controlling promotional costs are critical. The development of key product strategies, including new items, to accelerate market share and enhance the Panasonic brand image is very important.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide category/item P & L analysis and sales forecasts.
• Determine the pricing of products of products as well as setting a target cost of goods.
• Liaison to manufacturing regarding product development and quality issues.
• Manage all category items, including budgets, cost of goods and profit goals.
• Develop marketing strategies, product modifications and new products to achieve annual sales and profit objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Marketing, Business Administration or related from four-year college or university. Three to four years experience in a consumer packaged goods company is preferred.
Experience in working with syndicated data bases such as Nielsen and or IRI is strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS/COMMUNICATIONS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
This position will support all trade channels to include Food, Drug and Convenience classes of trade. Experience in this area is a must.
This position will have exposure to all groups internally because they will be coordinating sales and marketing activities.
Ability to travel is required for this position.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to analyze data and reach conclusions.

REASONING ABILITY and PROBLEM-SOLVING
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, in situations where change is on going. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
The level of problem solving must be high, this person will need to research and recommend potential product ideas and areas to develop categories. This person must be able to work independently and have the discipline to focus on their objectives.
