General Job Purpose: The Marketing Methods Segment Leader is responsible for researching,analyzing, planning, organizing and promoting assigned product lines from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives. The Leader organizes the workflow within his or her business segment and supervises assigned temporary and part-time personnel.

Defines & directs the development of comprehensive product marketing cycles in pre- and post-development environments.

Identifies market potential of assigned product lines, establishes pricing and market strategies, estimates potential sales, addresses market/distribution/channel issues, and manages assigned product lines from conception through deployment including on going,sustained actions for growth.

Based on market research, provides qualified leads for assigned markets.

Leads Curtis in innovation within defined segment including product/service offerings creating associated deployment actions.

Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.

Coordinates product introduction and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration of market segments.

Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions.

Assesses and develops brand nomenclature for different products and services.

Coordinates and aligns brand strategy with corporate marketing plan.

Communicates brand strategies in ongoing promotions to sales force.

Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations and finance to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.

Conducts pre-launch liaison with vendors and appropriate internal contacts (manufacturing, customer service, estimating, the sales force, etc.). May participate in negotiating with key vendors regarding pricing, contract terms and conditions.

Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.

Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for assigned product lines.

Defines and executes promotional activities, publicizing products and services through various media, the sales force, and other logical channels.

Provides expertise in particular product areas and training to other departments.

Plans, organizes and coordinates assigned programs to ensure accomplishment of financial and budgetary goals and optimum allocation of resources.

Coordinates and develops marketing, sales and financial plans for assigned product lines. Develops strategies and applicable portions of the Company business plan.

Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.

Manages day-to-day progress of business segments.

Manages resources to execute assigned programs.

Coordinates program planning with Marketing Manager to ensure identification of appropriate manufacturing schedules, goals, design criteria, costs and similar considerations.

Coordinates details of programs with functions and individuals affected throughout the organization.

Reviews potential changes in scope of segments and advises Marketing Manager of potential impact.

Provides continuing segment surveillance and management of new and established products to obtain financial objectives.

Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial and sales information for the assigned product lines.

Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product lines with key competitors.

Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in Company’s industry.

Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden Company’s product line.

Participates in key sales situations (special quotes, proposals, etc.) for the assigned product lines.

Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Knowledge of high-level business administration, including all aspects of product and project management, pricing, packaging and promotion principles is required, as are Internet, graphics and communications skills.

Minimum of Marketing – MBA

Minimum 5 years of Marketing Experience in role

Effective written communication skills, the ability to read, interpret and create short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence for a variety of audiences.

Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients and employees of the organization

Ability to use experience and independent judgment to handle unique and sometimes complex situations

Excellent problem solving, follow-up, and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects

Excellant computer (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet) skills

This position requires the incumbent to stoop, kneel or crouch or and lift/ and or move up to 10 lbs. In addition, occasionally lift and/ or move 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet tomoderate.

Some travel required; Approximately 25 percent travel
